Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera is set to take on one of the most daring roles of her career as she stars in the upcoming Prime Video series ‘Behind Closed Doors’.

For the first time, Marian will portray a journalist who is also the mistress of the President of the Philippines—a character played by her real-life husband, Dingdong Dantes, who has a special participation in the series.
The project also marks the couple’s reunion following their successful Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 entry ‘Rewind’.
According to director Dominic Zapata, Dingdong played a key role in convincing Marian to accept the project.
“Dong, kumbinsihin mo si Yan na gawin ‘yung proyekto na ‘to, napakaganda. Ayun, buti pumayag si Yan,” Zapata shared.
He also emphasized how different the role is for Marian.
“Very offbeat for her as Marian dahil mistress siya rito, at hindi lang basta mistress – mistress ng presidente ng Pilipinas,” he added.
For her part, Marian expressed excitement over exploring a role outside her usual image.
“Ang gandang pasukin ang mundong hindi ko pa ginagawa. Ang character ko rito ay mistress, so first kong gagawin ‘to, and a journalist. First time ko rin ‘yun gagawin. Why not try something new? I think this is a good project for me,” she said.
She also revealed that she is currently studying the work of journalists to properly portray the role.
“Ang ganda nu’ng project. Sabi ko nga hindi lang ‘yung character ko, parang halos lahat ng character may puso at may malalim na koneksyon sa bawat isa,” she added.
Joining the cast is Jillian Ward, who will play the president’s daughter. Her character is expected to clash with Marian’s role following the assassination of her father.
