Then all the other motorists behind me followed! MMDA thinks I’m an official ASEAN delegate! If u can’t beat ‘em, join them! #nosticker #leadership #belikemaria #pasaway #selfpreservation 🙏🏽”

Her post earned mixed reactions from the netizens and has been shared over 7,296 times on Facebook and has garnered thousands of comments as of this writing.

“Thanks for showing the world Maria Isabel Lopez how discipled we are on the road and that urban illiterates do exist. You just made us all proud and hope you get what you deserve. 🙂 ”

“That’s why it’s actually not just the number of cars that causes the monstrous traffic, it’s the large number of law breaking, dumb, selfish and abusive drivers like Maria Isabel Lopez creating chaos in the streets of metro Manila.”

“It may seem funny but what “Maria Isabel Lopez” did was a bad moved. Definitely consequence is on her way. I hope she learn from this lesson. Pls next time be a good example to everyone. God bless her.”

“Tignan mo yung mga pinoy na naipit s traffic, Kahit inis na inis na sila, galit na galit n sila, bwisit n bwisit na Sila, Nagawa pa rin nilang sumunod s patakarang inilatag ng pamahalaan, Libo libo silang sumunod s batas, ikaw Ginang Maria Isabel Lopez ay proud pang sumuway”

“Be like Maria Isabel Lopez!! Winner si mama puta, deadma sa mga ASEAN’s leader and partner countries basta da daan ako! 😂😂😂😂 ”

MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago told Inquirer in an interview that what Lopez did was a “serious breach of security.” “MMDA and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will now recommend to the Land Transportation Office the suspension or cancellation of Maria Isabel Lopez’s license,” she said.

UPDATE: In an interview by GMA News, Maria Isabel explained, “Pasaway naman talaga ako pero tao lang. I feel like a second class citizen in my country because of traffic caused by ASEAN lanes.”
