Humakot ng parangal ang mga programa at personalidad ng GMA News and Public Affairs sa dalawang nirerespetong award-giving bodies kamakailan.
Labing-anim na parangal ang iginawad sa GMA Network, kabilang na ang dalawang Hall of Fame trophies, ng UP Community Broadcasters Society ng University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) sa katatapos lamang na Gandingan 2011: The 5th UPLB Isko’t Iska’s Broadcast Choice Award.
Kasama sa mga pinarangalan ang multi-awarded broadcast journalist na si Jessica Soho (best magazine program host) at ang programa niyang Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (best magazine program), Vicky Morales (best public affairs program host), Jiggy Manicad (best investigative program host), at ang Reporter’s Notebook (best investigative program).
Nagwagi naman bilang best documentarist sa taong ito sina Howie Severino at Kara David. Panalo rin ang I-Witness bilang best documentary program, at ang Imbestigador bilang best public service program.
Itinanghal naman na parehong Hall of Fame awardees ang I-Witness (best documentary program) at si Howie (best documentarist award) matapos nitong mapanalunan taun-taon ang mga nasabing award simula 2007.
Sa Gandingan special category, nakuha ng Eleksyon 2010 special na Kandidato ang best educational program award. Kinilala naman bilang Gandingan ng Edukasyon si Mike Enriquez. Gandingan ng Edukasyon rin ang pagkilalang ibinigay kay Richard Gutierrez habang naiuwi naman ng environmental documentary niyang Planet Philippines ang best environment-oriented program award.
Nagwagi rin bilang best women-oriented program ang dating lifestyle talk show ng Channel 11 na The Sweet Life.
Ilang programa rin ng Kapuso Network ang pinarangalan sa katatapos lamang na University of Santo Tomas’ 7th UST Student’s Choice Awards for Television (USTv).
Nanalo bilang best local news & current affairs program ang Kapuso flagship newscast na 24 Oras, best documentary program ang I-Witness, at best magazine program naman ang Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.
Panalo rin dito ang mga programang Bubble Gang (best gag show), Pepito Manaloto (best sitcom), Hole in the Wall (best game show), at Mel & Joey (best talk variety program).
Bukod sa mga nasabing parangal, tumanggap din kamakailan ng special citation ang Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho mula sa Hildegarde Awards for Outstanding Women in Media and Communication ng St. Scholastica’s College.
