Nadine Lustre recently released her own makeup line in collaboration with BYS Cosmetics. The Lustrous 12-piece collection consists of eyeshadow palettes, bronzer and highlighter palette, lip and cheek tints, mascaras, eyebrow pencils and eyeliners in different shades.
Many Filipino beauty bloggers took to their YouTube accounts to express their thoughts on the said makeup line. Raiza Contawi published her honest review on March 24, Saturday. However, many of Nadine’s fans slammed Raiza on her review.
Although Raiza posted an honest review, Nadine’s die-hard fans slammed her for it. Raiza’s entire goal is to give “honest to goodness” reviews on any make-up collections and brands. Some of Nadine’s fans left harsh and negative comments regarding the said make-up review. Raiza took to her Instagram Story to expose said fans.
One netizen also wrote that Raiza got many things wrong.
“I like Jessica Godirez’s review better kasi walang Mali Mali!!! Ikaw ang dami mong Mali!!!”
Raiza, then, corrected the said netizen:
“It’s Jessica GODINEZ. Not Godirez.”
The said netizen also wrote:
Hindi ka kasi po nakinig na may 2 shades ang mascara nila its… Void and lazzuni… Lazzini is not waterproof and the Void one is waterproof…. Nakakairita ka!!!! Yang ginamit mo ay LAZZINI and hindi yan waterproof!!!! NAKAKAIRITA KA!!!”
Raiza, then, corrected her again and wrote:
“It’s LAZULI. Not Lazzini.”
Although amid the hate from Nadine’s fans, many netizens defended Raiza. Some netizens took to their Twitter account to express their support for Raiza’s honest review.
“To those Nadine fans whose so butthurt by Ms. Raiza Contawi “honest review” regarding Lustrous Nadine x BYS make up collab. U guys should know what is RESPECT. Its her personal opinion but shes not shameless saying don’t buy it in ur face. Just go buy it if u rly wanna try. Done”
Another netizen showed their support to Raiza.
“Some immature fans are attacking Rai Contawi bc of her review on Nadine’s Lustrous collection. Like wtf? Rai is a professional make up artist! She knows what the hell is she talking about. You can’t just hate a person for being honest. Grow up people. Love you @raizacontawi”
Another netizen also referred to Raiza’s past video on having a Nadine Lustre inspired make-up.

Some netizens responded on the said video. The netizen also put her insight on the said products. However, Raiza’s video helped her decide on whether or not she would buy the Lustrous make-up collection.
“I jst finished watching the whole video. Honestly, all the products looks so amazing on u! And ill prolly buy most of it. i was a bit disappointed about the lip tint. Kasi why wud it not be the same colour as the packaging when the packaging is the first colour that tells us kung anong colour ng tint. So ano toh, guess the real color. Ganon. So sad. But id still buy the tint i think its cute and myt work with some other lip textures ng tao. Also mascara.. No way ill buy it. That was another disappointment. This really helped me to decided ate, thanks talaga. Ur yhe first pinay ata nag review ng makeup line ni nadine so im glad im subbed to you.”
Another netizen pointed out that one would only buy the products because they support Nadine. She also felt disappointed on the products and the price isn’t worth it.
“Parang bibilihin mo lang yung make up dahil kay nadine hindi dahil sa make up mismo, sad to say konti lang yata yung makikita mo sa mga product na maganda talaga, naging maganda lang kasi magaling si ms.raiza gumawa ng paraan ,what more pa kami na mga baguhan, hmmm hindi din worth it ang price :(“
Another netizen pointed out that Raiza remains one of the most talented beauty bloggers in the country.
“Ms. Raiza is one of the best Youtuber in the Ph. She can works with cheapest make up in the market, but this one, 1st time kong nakitang napakamot si Ms. Raiza. 😂😂😂 Such a honest review, save your money gals. You’re paying for the name not the product. 🤗✌”
Raiza as a professional make-up artist and beauty blogger, then, revealed that she doesn’t like some of the products in the collection. She also added an explanation why she didn’t like the eyeshadow palette.
Although she doesn’t have a problem with it, she wished that Nadine should have added a matte eyeshadow to complement the shimmery ones. In the said video review, she already started to hope for the best but ended up getting frustrated.
