GMA Network’s gamble on Victor Magtanggol, easily their biggest project this year, has paid off handsomely.
Moreover, GMA also announced that the hashtag #VictorMagtanggolAngSimula became the top trending hashtag on Twitter garnering 1.12 million global tweets.
According to AGB Nielsen Philippines’ Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement People in Television Homes (NUTAM), the show’s pilot episode had an average number of viewers of 5.26 million nailing a 12.4% rating and 39.8% share compared to rival shows. The figures were announced on August 1, 2018.
GMA prepared long and hard for Victor Magtanggol. The production decided to have cast members undergo physical training in order to perform their action scenes well.
Cast and crew had to shoot some of the scenes outside the country.
The show received several criticisms even before they started shooting. Nonetheless, these did not, in any way, discourage the network to continue the project. Instead, GMA took it as an inspiration knowing that people are actually following the development of the show.
The Kapuso actors involved in the project also admired the network and the lengths Alden Richards went to for the series.
GMA hopes to keep the competition with ABS-CBN’s FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano interesting by introducing new twists on Victor Magtanggol and making it something not to be missed.
