Kapuso Stars share what Acting Coach Anthony Bova taught them in training

  • Renowned international acting coach Anthony Bova on Tuesday expressed pride at how far Kapuso stars came under his tutelage.
  • Bova had flown back to Manila from New York for the culminating activity that showcased what the artists had learned during the coach’s year-long training program.

Among those who participated in the Anthony Bova workshop were Rocco Nacino, Mikee Quintos, and Thea Tolentino, as well as some of the many Kapuso artists, scriptwriters, directors, and executives. It was a privilege to be trained by a world-renowned acting coach like Bova.

Mikee shared that she had a self-realization which she can use in her future roles.

“May mga revelation akong nalaman sa sarili ko [at] dahil doon, mas naging equipped ako, mas naging ready ako to do more stuff sa set,” said Mikee.

Rocco conveyed that he and GMA Network directors and scriptwriters were inspired to create better content.

“I’ve learned a lot about archetypes. I’ve always had trouble portraying positive archetypes. I was able to further explore myself through archetypes. You should always explore what you feel, because that unexplored feeling might be holding you back from something,” Thea added.

When asked to describe shortly what he taught to various Kapuso artists, Bova said “We were always challenged every workshop to explore characters we weren’t used to playing. We were taught how to focus better for our scenes on television. The workshop is physically tiring but very fulfilling. I had a lot of skeletons in my closet, through the workshop, I realized that if you tap on it and release yourself from those demons, you’ll love yourself even more.”

Coach Anthony Bova will soon return to the country to train another batch of Kapuso stars.
