Noontime show rivals ‘Eat Bulaga’ and ‘It’s Showtime’ have both dating games as part of their respective show.
‘Eat Bulaga’s’ dating game called “Anong Status Mo?” puts a love searcher to four possible matches or searchee. The format of the game is simple. The hosts would ask questions to the love searcher and the love searchees will try to match the love searcher’s answer six times to move to the jackpot round, which can give both the searchee and searcher 10 thousand pesos every time they pick the same cards.
Unlike ‘Eat Bulaga’s’ “Anong Status Mo?” which involves young adults in their late teens or early 20s, ‘It’s Showtime’s’ dating segment “Kaparewho,” features single and widowed people in their 40s hoping to find a compatible partner. The segment lets two ladies evaluate three men and pick the one they would go on a date with, based on how they act, speak, and respond to the questions or challenges that the hosts will ask them.
The latest national TV ratings have largely went in favor of ABS-CBN’s ‘It’s Showtime’ with 18.9%, compared to its rival Eat Bulaga’s 10.5%.
