Kapuso star Sanya Lopez has been lauded by some fans after a video of her shouting “Darna” was uploaded on social media last weekend. The video shows Sanya in red sexy dress shouting, “Darna!”

According to Lopez, she is open to portraying the iconic ‘Darna’ role if her management would allow her.
“Pag nagbigay po sila ng invitation sa GMA at pumayag ang GMA, why not. Pag sila po nagbigay ng invitation. Gusto po kasi talaga yung nag-action, Nung bata kasi ako para akong lalaki. Kalaro ko kapatid ko, mga pinsan kong lalaki. Kaya gusto ko yung mga panlalaki na laro,” she said in an interview.

Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano was supposed to take on the iconic role of Darna after Angel Locsin backed out due to her back injury. However, Soberano withdrew from the project after worrying that a finger injury she sustained while working on the series Bagani would her movements and put limitations in doing action scenes for Darna.
Open auditions for a new Darna in the upcoming Star Cinema movie were held over the past week.
