Psoriasis Philippines (PsorPhil), the only Filipino group recognized by the International Federation of Psoriasis Association and the International Psoriasis Network, has an appeal over ABS-CBN News program “Bandila” reported that their news team have discovered what they described as ‘inexplicable’ illness that was swelling in some parts of Pangasinan.
Here’s their letter addressed to ABS-CBN News:

The news item regarding the mysterious disease in Pangasinan shown on Bandila has created undue stress to the Psoriasis Philippines community. By linking the mysterious disease to be a possible psoriasis condition, wrecks havoc to the already fragile emotional and psychological state of our members due to vexation, vilification and discrimination from those who know nothing of the patients’ conditions and sufferings.
Please do not add further to the sufferings of people living with psoriasis. Psoriasis is NOT contagious. News like what you presented gives the public another reason to create walls against people with psoriasis who tend to isolate themselves to avoid public’s rejection. Please help us and spare us from more pain.
The group also added:
The Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS) has already asked some of its members in Pangasinan area to visit the patients today and make the right diagnosis. I wish even the DOH should have consulted the experts first before they issued any final statements on the so called “mysterious disease” presented irresponsibly by ABS-CBNnews.com’s Bandila.

that would be a lesson learn to the ABS-CBNnews.com’s Bandila to get the news pearly and reliable. because it can cause commotion to the people who heard that said news.
