BY THE NUMBERS: The Impact of Rated K’s change of timeslot

After suffering big blows going up against Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, Korina Sanchez-Roxas’ Rated K has finally found its rhythm again after changing timeslots.

Last August 11, as part of its 15th-year-anniversary celebration, Rated K went back to its original early timeslot of 6 PM.

Previously, Rated K was going head-to-head with Kapuso magazine show KMJS.

Although Rated K had held the timeslot crown for quite some time, KMJS was able to bump off the Kapamilya magazine show after the latter made its biggest blunder last year when it featured Korina’s interview with the infamous Mocha Uson.

From then on, KMJS pulled ahead of the competition and left Rated K far behind.

Checking its Kantar Media nationwide ratings pre-timeslot change, Rated K averaged only 17%.

From July 14 to 28, 2019, Rated K only managed to capture 16.1%, 17.2%, and 15.7% ratings respectively.

But after the timeslot change, the show started to pick up again.

On August 4, one week before it moved to the 6 pm timeslot, Rated K registered 23% nationwide ratings.

It was a big leap from the preceeding rating of 15.7% signaling a renewed attention and attraction to the 15-year old Kapamilya magazine show.

During its timeslot change on August 11, although it got lower ratings than the previous week, Rated K managed to win its timeslot, 21.8% versus rival Amazing Earth‘s 15%.

Since then, Rated K‘s rating has trajected upwards with its August 18 episode increasing 0.1% at 21.9% and the latest episode last August 25 gaining 1.1% at 23%.

Aside from winning the ratings game, Rated K‘s timeslot change was also warmly welcomed on social media.

With this current upward trend in Rated K‘s ratings, it seems set on reviving its former glory.

With Sanchez-Roxas’ broadcasting experience plus Rated K‘s 15 years, there seems no stopping the Kapamilya show from recapturing its glory days.
