After 12 years, Kris Bernal finally won an award, the “Most Outstanding TV Actress” award from the Gawad Amerika Foundation in California. She uploaded her photo holding a trophy on Instagram immediately to share the good news with fans and to express her gratitude to everyone who supports her.
The Kapuso actress also revealed that she never imagined going abroad to receive an award.
She said: “Never in my wildest dream would I ever think that I would be coming here in California to receive such a prestigious award. I am truly honored to be here alongside other brilliant awardees who best exemplify the talent, pride, and excellence of the Filipino people. I am deeply humbled and inspired.”
Kris also grabbed the opportunity to thank everyone who watches her shows and appreciates her efforts for twelve consecutive years.

For more than 12 years as an actress in GMA Network, Kris felt dismayed for not receiving any acting award. Now, she aims to work in a project that will further hone her acting skills. In an interview for Hanggang Sa Dulo ng Buhay Ko, she said she will be accepting roles that might give her recognition.
“Yung gusto mo na talaga gumawa ng role na mapapansin ka hindi ‘yong parang nadaanan lang. ‘Yong puwede kang mabigyan ng recognition ‘yon na ‘yong habol ko eh. Like, for so long, every year may show ako, more than 12 na ang shows ko, hindi talaga ako nabibigyan ng award.”
