Actress Cristine Reyes gave her reaction on the issue that Claudine Barretto was the first choice for her role in the movie Untrue.
At the press conference of Untrue, the actress clarified that the role that was given to her was just a coincidence.
“‘Yung nagtanong sa akin kung intensiyon daw po ba, sabi ko hindi intensiyon, nagkataon lang na naibigay sa akin,”
But what was her reaction on the issue that she was just a replacement for Claudine?
“Ah siya pala talaga ‘yung original. Kasi iba ang naiisip ko. Oo nga sa kanya pala originally. How do I feel, ‘yun po ba ang tanong?”
Cristine shared that she accepted the role because it was a good one.
“Actually nung tinanggap ko ang pelikula, tinanggap ko po siya dahil maganda talaga.

“Sinabi ko na ito ‘yung matagal kong hinihintay na project and seryoso po talaga ako rito. Kaya sabi ni Xian (Lim) na game face ako lagi sa shoot kasi gustong-gusto ko talaga siya gawin.
“Siguro, thank God, ‘yun ang masasabi ko na ibinigay Niya sa akin itong project kasi hindi ko ito makukuha kung hindi dahil sa Kanya.”
Previously at the Manila International Book Fair, director Sigrid Andrea Bernando only gave a cryptic reaction to the idea that Claudine was supposed to be the star of Untrue. The movie was supposed to be a reunion project with her former onscreen partner and ex-boyfriend, Mark Anthony Fernandez.
