After ABS-CBN was denied a fresh 25-year license after repeatedly clashing with President Rodrigo Duterte, Apet Roa Nunez shared how she felt about the shutdown of the giant media network especially since her two nephews—Hon. Franz “Chicoy” E. Alvarez, the chairman of the House Committee and legislative franchise, and Rambo Nunez, the boyfriend of Kapamilya star Maja Salvador—are affected by this situation.

On the Instagram account of Apet, she expressed her sadness on how painful this week is for her and her family.

“If it has been a heartbreaking & painful week for the majority how much more to our family. I’m speaking here as the Tita Ap of my two nephews”

She then shared how the family got emotional especially over the result of ABS-CBN’s bid to renew their franchise that was rejected by the House of Representatives Committee on Legislative Franchises after a series of hearings,

“Anyway, I got emotional at the family Viber group. Chicoy, being the House commitee on legislative franchises chairman, & Rambo being the boyfriend of Maja Salvador. Not much words are being said just broken hearts & crying emoticons at the time when a resolution is about to be made.”

“There’s nothing to fake outside the limelight & TV Coverage.”

She then disclosed on how Hon. Franz “Chicoy” E. Alvarez tried his best and apologized to Maja since Maja is part of their family’s Viber group chat.

“Sorry hanggang dun lang kinaya ko Maj,” he said.

“Salamat Kuya, alam kong madami kang tinulong sa ABS [CBN], inilaban mo na may hearing,” she replied.

Rambo also thanked Chicoy on her behalf for his efforts.

Even Senators and some organizations still cannot believe the fate of the ABS-CBN franchise bills that were killed in the House by some lawmakers despite all allegations against the channel proven false.

Rambo also clarified why his brother in law, Franz Alvarez, did not vote as the Chairman of the committee.

“My brother in law did not vote as the Chairman of the committee and would only vote in case of a tie. I hope you refrain from judgments like that because that itself is a problem.”

On Instagram, Maja shared her fears and prayers for her fellow Kapamilya.

“Dasal ko po na sana mabigyan ng panibagong prangkisa ang aming pangalawang tahanan. Dasal ko din na patibayin niyo po at mas bigyan ng lakas ang aking mga Kapamilya at Kaibigan sa industriya. Hindi po madali ang pinagdadaanan nating lahat, huwag po tayong sumuko, Kapamilya.”

Along with her post, the actress  took the chance to appeal to the congressmen to give ABS-CBN the chance that it deserves,

“Sa ating mga Congressmen, isa po ako sa mga Kapamilya na nakikiusap na sana po bigyan niyo po ng panibagong pagkakataon ang ABS-CBN.”

Just last year, Maja Salvador confirmed that she was back with former boyfriend Rambo Nuñez after they broke up nine years ago and even broke her own rule of getting back again with an ex.

“‘Wag na tayo sa into details, ibigay niyo na lang sa akin ‘yon, at least nag-share ako. It’s my first time na, one thousand percent, na walang pagdadalawang isip, if I’ll share it or not, [and] minsan you break your own rules, and I think it’s worth it.”
