Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo Guidicelli admitted that it was only after she got married that she was able to handle her own finances.
This is what the Popstar Royalty revealed during an interview with the press for insurance company Manulife, “To be honest, na-expedite ‘yung adulting ko,” she said. “Ngayon ko lang na-experience how to handle my own finances, how to budget, how to invest.”
It is no secret that it was always her mother, Divine Geronimo, also known as Mommy Divine was always handling the singer-actress’ finances since the very beginning of her career.
“Ang mama ko po talaga kung kaya niya gawin lahat, gagawin niya para sa mga anak niya, para lang hindi maistorbo ang mga anak niya.”
Sarah stressed that this was her mother’s way of showing love and affection to their family.
Although their relationship has always been wrapped up in controversy, Sarah still thanked her mother.
“Ganun siya ka-loving sa mga anak niya, so ngayon natututunan ko na lahat, with the help of my husband, I grew up na very dependent talaga sa aking parents, kasi talagang grabe naman talaga mag-alaga ang aking mama and daddy.”
Sarah had admitted years earlier that Mommy Divine was the one who handled her money when she was rumored to be the highest-paid celebrity on ASAP.
“To be honest, hindi, hindi pa po ako nakikialam sa pera ko. Talagang ipinagkakatiwala ko muna po kay Mommy ang lahat,” Sarah said then. “Pero soon, soon po, aayusin ko rin po talaga para maging hands-on din ako sa savings ko, sa sarili kong kinikita. Mas may knowledge na rin tayo sa paghawak ng pera.”
Just after the secret wedding of Sarah and Matteo Guidicelli, rumors that Mommy Divine just used Sarah as a cash cow grew even louder.

As of now, Sarah said her husband and building a family of her own are now her priority.
“I keep reminding myself now na hindi na ako single. I have to accept na hindi na ako single, Iba na ang priority ko sa buhay, my priority now is my husband kasi yun ang reality ng buhay ng pag-aasawa, na ang priority na is your husband and the family that you will be building with your husband.”
