For the first time in the competition, Myrtle Sarrosa notched the top spot in the rankings of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” after having impressed the jurors with her impersonation of Mystica last week.
To effectively copy Mystica’s on-stage act, Myrtle practiced doing the split for a week. It was only during her actual performance that Myrtle nailed the split, she said.
“When I was on stage, I felt like a totally different person. It was the first time I felt that way. Now I’m stronger and more fired up for the coming weeks,” she added.
Amidst the pressure, Myrtle was motivated to do her best after “split queen” Mystica herself posted a video online expressing her support for Myrtle. Aside from Mystica, Martin Nievera and Season 1 finalist Jay-R also showed their support for Eric Nicolas and Michael Pangilinan, who impersonated them, respectively, by showing up in the set of the program.
This weekend (Oct 24 and 25), Myrtle goes the daring route again as Nicole Scherzinger of girl group Pussycat Dolls.
Also coming out as the best versions of their assigned music icons are Kean Cipriano as Jose Mari Chan, Denise Laurel as Jed Madela, Eric Nicolas as Apache Indian, Michael Pangilinan as Tracy chapman, KZ as Lolita Carbon, Kakai Bautista as Julie Andrews, and Sam Concepcion as Ogie Alcasid.
