The color of summer is red in TV5’s newest station ID, Iba Sa 5, where it gave special highlight to its diversified programming

TV5 is reminding Filipinos why they need to pay attention to the network’s expanding and diversifying program line-up. As it grew in both size and quality, in the past few months, the Kapatid Network, flaunts its array of new programs, that it produced and acquired through leasing deals with a number of block timers.

Among those block time programs, are those produced by ABS-CBN Entertainment and ABS-CBN’s various production units (Dreamscape Entertainment, Star Creatives, etc.). Iba Sa 5 marks the first time a high number of Kapamilya talents are appearing on a TV5 Station ID, making the launch last night (May 20), historic.

FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Huwag Kang Mangamba, Init Sa Magdamag, and Count You Lucky Stars were shown on the two-and-a-half-long music video. Interestingly, the musical variety show, ASAP Natin ‘To, was missing on this release. ASAP Natin is among the first two Kapamilya programs (the other being, movie block, FPJ Da King), to be aired on TV5.

Based on press releases, Iba Sa 5 isn’t officially presented as the Kapatid Network’s summer station ID.  Nevertheless, the overall mood of the song used and the video, itself, imparts an unmistakable sense of summer. The lyrics have catchy phrases and the beats of the song are danceable, too.

From the very first frame, the station ID threw into the spotlight its efforts to cater to a range of diversified audience demographics. It flaunted its variety of genres (FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano for its action-loving masculine audiences, Init Sa Magdamag for sexy drama fans, as well as Gen Z, Huwag Kang Mangamba, for teenagers). Flagship programs like its early evening newscast, Frontline Pilipinas, noontime show, Lunch Out Loud, and game shows, The Wall Philippines and 1000 Heartbeats: Pintig Pinoy, are given moments to shine.

The biggest Kapatid stars, including Maja Salvador and Billy Crawford, practically served as TV5’s bannermen in their station ID, which also showcases big stars from both ABS-CBN and GMA Network. Maine Mendoza was given a special moment in the music video, as well as the hosts and judges of the primetime reality singing show, Sing Galing.

The network’s news and sports division are also included in this special showcase, as well as upcoming talent search, POPINOY, which will have Maine Mendoza as main presenter, and Maja Salvador and Jay-R as judges.

Overall, Iba Sa 5 is a fun and effective way for TV5 to make its audiences feel their importance. During the pandemic, variety wasn’t an easy find, as most local tv networks opted to air reruns.

TV5, which was among the first tv stations to shake up the local tv landscape, with a number of new shows, continues to innovate and offer new content.
