GMA Network’s resident meteorologist Nathaniel “Mang Tani” Cruz made the rounds online after netizens worry about his career following Kim Atienza’s transfer to the Kapuso network.
Kuya Kim officially bid farewell to his ABS-CBN family last October 1, 2021. He left his home network after 17 years. He was formerly a resident weather anchor in ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol’s “Weather-Weather Lang” segment.
He is then expected to be part of three Kapuso shows; an entertainment trivia show before 24 Oras, Mars Pa More; and substitute for Mang Tani for 24 Oras weather reports.
Following Kuya Kim’s network transfer, the netizens could not help but ask what would happen to Mang Tani?
Mang Tani is currently with his family in Australia, which explains why he has not been reporting to 24 Oras, and his other Kapuso shows since mid-2021.
However, he still does remote work for GMA-7’s IM Ready forecast.
Many netizens claimed that Kuya Kim would be replacing Mang Tani in 24 Oras.

Other netizens said that Kuya Kim is just accepting the Kapuso offer because he has a family to feed and that people should not judge him.
While others noted that Kuya Kim would not replace Mang Tani.
