On July 11, actress-beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez reacted to Senator Robin Padilla’s Divorce Bill.
Through her Twitter account, Ruffa wrote ‘Best news ever!! #YesToDivorce’ while retweeting a post from Sherie Ann Torres, who posted a copy of Sen. Robin’s bill.
Sen. Robin’s bill cites several factors as grounds for filing a divorce. These factors include irreconcilable differences, incapacity of either spouse to perform essential marital obligations, having a child with another person, and VAWC conviction.
“Wala tayong sinisirang pamilya. Pinroproteksyunan natin ang hindi magkasundo,” said Sen. Robin.
Earlier, Ruffa expressed her support for divorce bills through her Tweet-protected account during the presidential debates in February.
In 2007, Ruffa separated from the Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas after getting married in 2003. Her marriage with Yilmaz got annulled in 2012, five years after their separation.
