Actress Liza Soberano revealed that she only gets a small cut of her talent fee back in her former home Network, ABS-CBN.
In part 2 of her interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, uploaded on March 13, Soberano opened up about her former management.
Soberano revealed that her former manager Ogie Diaz does not get a 40% cut from her talent fee like what netizens are claiming.
“Nakita ko rin po ‘yun sa Twitter like people were accusing Tito Ogie taking forty percent from me. I want to clarify na hindi rin po ‘yun totoo.
She then shared the commission breakdown of her talent fee, which included Ogie Diaz, her aunt Joni and Star Magic.
“I started with him [Ogie Diaz] in 2012 and then up until 2015 or 2016 which was when I was seventeen thirty percent po ‘yung commission niya sa akin, my Tita Joni was taking twenty percent, and Star Magic was taking ten percent.
“I also pay US taxes alongside my Philippine taxes because I’m a US citizen and a Filipino citizen so my total take home was around thirty percent,” she said.
She then said there was a change with their percentage cut because Diaz and her aunt felt bad for her.
“So eventually naging twenty percent na lang po si Tito Ogie, and si Tita Joni naging fifteen percent tapos ‘yung bawas niya was after Tito Ogie would take his commission and Star Magic was still at ten percent pero ang Star Magic po hindi kumukuha ng commission if it’s money coming from ABS-CBN so ang money po galing sa teleserye, sa movies, hindi po sila kumukuha ng commission its just from endorsements.
“I never complained kasi ‘yun po ang nasa kontrata,” said Soberano.
With her new management Careles, she now gets an 80% cut from her talent fee.
“My only manager right now in the Philippines is Careless and they’re taking the same amount that Tito Ogie was taking, and I have no one else taking anything from me so my total take home now is eighty percent which I think is fair,” she shared.
Soberano is one of the former homegrown talents of the ABS-CBN network since 2012. She recently left the ABS-CBN network to try her luck in Hollywood.
