The country is poised to witness a significant turn of events following the resignation of the popular trio, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon, from TAPE Inc. Despite the challenges they face, the trio has confirmed their commitment to continue the show.
TV5 announced trio TVJ joining TV5 via Twitter on Wednesday by sharing the official statement of Mediaquest Group headed by Jane Bases.
It’s worth noting that TV5 also airs the popular noontime show, It’s Showtime!.
With this deal between TVJ and TV5, the burning question remains: Will Eat Bulaga! take over It’s Showtime’s time slot on the current network?
Christy Fermin also hinted at this issue during an episode of Showbiz Now Na on May 2. She suggested that if TVJ joins the joint station, conflicts in the airing shows’ time slots may arise. According to her sources, TVJ’s show is likely to occupy the noon time slot, while the other show might be moved to a later time, potentially occupying the prime-time block.
These speculations have led to an outpouring of protests on social media from loyal viewers of It’s Showtime, who are opposed to any changes to their beloved show.

Meanwhile, a faction of fans is urging It’s Showtime to depart from TV5 and make a comeback on A2Z and online platforms. On the other hand, there are fans who maintain a neutral stance, suggesting that a later time slot wouldn’t necessarily be detrimental to the show’s success.
Amidst the varied reactions surrounding this matter, neither TV5 nor TVJ has issued an official statement confirming the network transfer.
