Senator siblings Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano and award-winning TV host Boy Abunda addressed money and relationship issues between two old friends.
In the episode aired Sunday, July 30, one of the cases the program fixed was the complaint of Romela Dolso who, together with her daughter Nicole, acquired the service of her hairstylist friend Edison “Sonson” Pacete.
It was an issue of professionalism as Sonson allegedly told Romela’s daughter that it was OK to swim after having a Brazilian hair botox. However, the latter denied it. As a result, Nicole’s hair got damaged. On the other hand, Sonson complained about Romela for not paying for the hair services. What made the situation worse was the hearsay from their neighbors.
“As a lawyer, pwede kong sabihin na ‘consistent ka, inconsistent ka,’ [pero] para sa ’kin, ano’ng nangyari na parang naging deep ‘yung pain sa inyong dalawa? Although normal ‘yon ‘pag close kayo. ‘Pag ‘yung makaaway na magkaaway talaga, mas madaling magkabati, pero ‘pag mag-best friend, mas malalim talaga,” Senator Alan commented.
“Kasi ‘yung pera, ‘yung amount na pinag-uusapan niyo, even through the show pwede tayong magtulungan ‘di ba? Pero ‘yung value ng relationship niyong dalawa, nanghihinayang lang ako, parang sayang naman kung itatapon natin ‘yung friendship niyo because hindi kayo nagkaunawaan,” he added.
Alan also laid down the possible end results to their discussion.
“Una, hindi kayo magkasundo, wala na lang kayong pakialaman para hindi kayo nags-stress out sa isa’t-isa. Pangalawa is that you realize na mas importante ‘yung pagkakaibigan niyo [o] relationship and you try to work it out. Pangatlo, ituloy niyo ang dispute niyo and problema sa dispute niyo, ‘yung advice will depend the facts and the facts is under dispute,” he said.
“So for example, kung malinaw na mali ang pagkagawa [sa hair service] at hindi siya (Nicole) nag-swimming, pwede mong (Romela) i-demand na tapusin niya (Sonson) ‘yung trabaho—kung pwede pa at hindi mada-damage—or ‘wag nang bayaran. Or in fact kung na-damage, singilin ka (Sonson) sa damages,” Kuya Alan explained further.
“Pero kung halimbawa malinaw na kasalanan ng anak mo (Romela), dahil nga nagswimming siya, [si Sonson] ang pwedeng maningil. And kung malinaw na siniraan siya (Sonson), pwede ka (Sonson) rin sumingil ng damages. But for you to do that, either sa barangay o sa korte, gaano katagal ‘yon? Gaano kalaking stress sa inyong dalawa?… Sana nga, one way or the other, maresolve natin.”
In the end, the two chose to forgive each other.
“Mare, sorry kung ganon. Alam ko maaayos naman natin ito ‘di ba? Buti nga dahil sa kanila (CIA with BA), at least matutuldukan kung anuman ang gulo o hindi pagkakaunawaan nating dalawa,” Sonson told Romela.
“Hindi ako nagtatanim ng sama ng loob o galit sa ‘yo. Nagtampo lang ako kasi mas pinaniwalaan mo ‘yung mga kapitbahay mo kaysa sa’kin,” Romela said in response.
The program also pledged to cover all the charges Sonson wanted to collect from Romela and also help him to cover rent for a few months for him to continue his hairstyling business and even his medical expenses.
‘CIA with BA’ continues the legacy of Senator Rene Cayetano, the late father of Senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano.
The senior Cayetano was a renowned lawyer who gained fame through his radio and TV program ‘Compañero y Compañera,’ which aired from 1997 to 2001.
