It was a lucky weekend for 100 garbage traders (mga mangangalakal) as they took home the jackpot prize of P2,200,000, each member getting P22,000, in “Everybody, Sing!” last Saturday and Sunday (September 2 and 3).
During the pre-jackpot round on Saturday, the contestants had 74 seconds to guess 10 songs. They eventually won the P200,000 pre-jackpot prize because of Vice Ganda’s song “KaraKaraka” after failing to guess it multiple times. The banter between the contestants and a frustrated Vice Ganda went viral online.
On Sunday’s jackpot round, the group had 86 seconds to guess 10 songs again, adding 10 more seconds after getting the bonus song. They won the P2 million jackpot prize after correctly guessing “Kabataan Para Sa Kinabukasan” by Francis Magalona.
“Itong araw na ito ay nakatadhana para maging masaya kayong lahat. Sa dinami-dami ng ginagawa niyong paghihirap, pagtitiis, at pagsasakripisyo araw-araw, deserve niyo naman ‘yung oras na nagsasaya na kayo, kumikita pa kayo,” Vice Ganda said to the emotional songbayanan after winning the jackpot prize.
Aside from this songbayanan, only two groups won the P2,000,000 jackpot prize in the third season of the show. They are the songbayanan of engaged couples and Manila fire survivors.
