Dingdong Dantes, hailed as the Box Office King this year, described his recent contract renewal with GMA Network on May 9 as his most memorable, attributing its significance to his new role as a family man.
Reflecting on his career, Dantes shared, “At this stage siguro sa buhay ko eh talagang medyo malaki ang impact nito, nitong event na ito.”
He has been with GMA Network for 28 years and could not remember how many times he had renewed his contract with the network. However, his recent renewal caused much celebration because he made this move with his family in mind.
“Siyempre kasi may pamilya na ako. Dati, noong ini-explore ko ‘yung career ko eh mag-isa pa lang ako. Ngayon, sa bawat desisyon na gawin ko, sa bawat project na tanggapin ko, eh nakakabit na d’yan ang aking pamilya. Kasi ginagawa ko ito para sa kanila eh. Now, it just becomes more meaningful because I am not just here for myself,” he elaborated.
It became even more meaningful when the actor pictured the event as if he were celebrating his birthday.
“Grabe ‘yung pakiramdam ko kanina. Parang kaarawan ko na napakasaya ng selebrasyon. Because ganito ko siya sini-celebrate sa utak ko. Dahil siya ganito kahalaga sa akin. And masaya ako na tumugma ‘yung paano ko siya sini-celebrate dito sa ibinigay sa akin ng GMA-7. Very grateful ako,” expressed Dantes.
The actor has several projects lined up as he inked a new contract with the Kapuso Network. Apart from upcoming shows, he is also doing a movie with former Kapamilya boss and actress Charo Santos.
