Annabelle Rama, the outspoken mother of actor Richard Gutierrez, has seemingly given her approval to his rumored relationship with actress Barbie Imperial.
While not confirming the romance outright, Rama’s recent Facebook post hints at a supportive stance toward the so-called “Barbie doll.”
On Wednesday, June 5, Rama addressed the swirling rumors with a cryptic message on her social media account. This comes after entertainment insider Ogie Diaz reported that Gutierrez and Imperial are “exclusively dating.”
“Hoy!! Yung walang magawa sa buhay tumahimik na kayo. Kasi si Annabelle Doll hindi lalaban kay Barbie Doll maganda, maputi at makinis,” Rama wrote, praising Imperial’s beauty without naming her directly.
Rama further added a humorous twist by stating she would rather confront “Chucky,” the infamous killer doll from the horror film series, rather than compete with a “Barbie doll.”
“Ang gusto makalaban ni Annabelle doll si Chucky. Alam nyo na kung sino yun HAHAHA happy kana,” she added, sparking speculation among netizens about her playful jab.
Rama’s post elicited various reactions online, with some interpreting it as a reference to herself, Imperial, and Gutierrez’s estranged wife, Sarah Lahbati. Observers noted that Rama’s comments might indicate her approval of Imperial for her son.
Actor Chuckie Dreyfus also chimed in on the conversation in the comments, adding to the buzz surrounding the post.
Rumors of a relationship between Gutierrez and Imperial have been circulating since January 2024, when they were first spotted together at a gastropub in Alabang. Speculation intensified when they were later seen on a trip to South Korea.
In a May 30 vlog, Ogie Diaz claimed the pair are “exclusively dating,” while emphasizing that there was no overlap between Lahbati and Imperial.
As of now, neither Richard Gutierrez nor Barbie Imperial has confirmed their relationship, leaving the public eagerly awaiting further developments in this potential romance.
