PNP OLC Foundation expands humanitarian efforts under Mary Rose Marbil’s leadership

In a world where women continue to redefine leadership, Mary Rose Marbil stands as a beacon of compassion, empowerment, and unwavering service.

As the wife of PNP Chief Rommel Francisco Marbil, many may see her as just a supportive partner, but her story goes beyond the title. She is a woman on a mission—one that transforms lives through love, service, and human connection.

Mrs. Marbil holds a critical role as the National Adviser of the Philippine National Police Officers’ Ladies Club Foundation, Inc. (PNP OLCFI). But for her, this is not just a position—it is an opportunity to help.

Her passion for humanitarian work led to the creation of the Love and Blessings (LAB) Virus Program, an initiative that aims to support PNP personnel and their families through medical aid, financial assistance, and livelihood programs.

“There’s always something you can do,” she firmly believes. “We are not just wives. Let’s not limit ourselves to what people think we can do. We have our charm—use it to move and make things happen. With our talents, we can work for the welfare of the people around us.”

Her work is a testament to the power of women in leadership—not just in governance but in nation-building and social welfare.

Under Mrs. Marbil’s guidance, the PNP OLC Foundation has expanded its reach to provide crucial aid to over 500 PNP personnel battling critical illnesses, particularly chronic kidney disease and cancer.

But beyond financial assistance, she wanted to create a long-term impact. That’s why the foundation launched a livelihood program, teaching soap-making and other small-business skills to PNP personnel and their families.

“We wanted to help them sustain themselves beyond financial aid. It’s important that they have a way to provide for their families even after receiving assistance,” she shares.

The foundation also plans to extend this initiative to street sweepers in Camp Crame, Manila, and Laguna, providing them with business kits and skills training.

One of the most impactful efforts of the LAB Virus Program took place in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). This area, long affected by conflict and economic hardship, witnessed the true meaning of public service through Mrs. Marbil’s team.

During a recent outreach, PNP personnel and volunteers distributed food, medicine, school materials, and livelihood support to struggling families. The event was more than just aid—it was a bridge that connected law enforcement and communities.

A local mother tearfully shared, “This is the first time I have seen police officers not just enforcing the law but genuinely caring for us. It gives us hope that we are not alone.”

Mrs. Marbil’s corporate background played a crucial role in structuring the foundation’s operations, ensuring that their efforts would continue long after her tenure. She has helped build a system where officers are designated to continue humanitarian efforts, providing continuity and sustainability.

Their fundraising events—such as the “Harmony for Heroes” concert featuring singing PNP personnel—also help sustain the foundation’s mission.

As we celebrate Women’s Month, Mrs. Marbil’s story is a reminder of the boundless potential of women in shaping society.

“Women have a unique power to uplift and transform communities, even in small ways,” she says. “Leading the LAB Virus Program has shown me that even the smallest gestures of support can make a world of difference.”

Her message to women is one of empowerment: “You are limitless. Do not let society define what you can and cannot do. If you have the opportunity to help, do it. If you have the ability to lead, step forward. Your strength and compassion can change lives.”

The LAB Virus Program is not just a foundation—it is a movement. It calls on individuals, organizations, and communities to take part in uplifting the lives of those in need.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Donate – Help sustain medical and livelihood initiatives by reaching out to pnpolcfoundationinc@gmail.com or visiting PNP OLC Foundation, INC. on Facebook.
  • Volunteer – Join outreach programs and experience the joy of serving others.
  • Spread Awareness – Share the foundation’s mission to inspire more people to take part.

Mary Rose Marbil is proof that true leadership is not just about power—it is about heart. Through her work with the PNP OLC Foundation, she continues to uplift lives, strengthen families, and inspire change—one act of kindness at a time.

And in a world that desperately needs more compassion, her story serves as a powerful reminder that the greatest leaders are those who serve others selflessly.
