The Bad Boy MJ Raffy entry of Raffy Turingan and Joegrey Gonsalez emerged victorious in this year’s second edition of World Slasher Cup 9-Cock Invitational Derby at the end of the final round on Tuesday night, May 27, at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Bad Boy MJ Raffy entry garnered 8.5 points to bag the solo championship in this tournament, often regarded as the Olympics of Cockfighting.
Nene Abello’s entry (Raffy Blackwater Hieronymous), Al Estudillo (AE Covina), and Jimmy Junsay (Sto. Niño Jared) bagged runner-up honors, with 8 points at the end of this year’s prestigious derby.
Meanwhile, DGP/ECM C/O Ronald Basilio (DGP ECM High Breaker) and Capt. JQ De Castro/Capt. VSQ (JQMT Zuma Omti CSC) ended the competition with 7.5 points each.
Anthony Ramos (Taga Bukid Mad Science), JB Bernos/Jun Durano (Abra JD), and Bruno Dinero/Frank Berin (Mulawin-Bruno Diners) each scored 6.5 points.
The derby’s grand finals featured 28 entries with 56 matchups of the world’s best cockfighters.
