In an industry such as showbiz, it’s not always easy to find true friends. Thus, it was refreshing to see a friendship like that of Angelica Panganiban and Empoy Marquez.
Angelica and Empoy have always had a healthy, platonic relationship. Given the success of Empoy’s latest movie, ‘Kita Kita’, the actor has been receiving more attention than usual.
The actor who was once known as just ‘Empoy’ is now known as ‘Empoy Marquez’.
Angelica, being the supportive friend that she is, expressed how proud she is of the actor’s achievements.
“Medyo nagulat, kasi hello, nakakahiya rin sa kanya kasi tinitingala na ngayon si Empoy. Hindi na siya si Empoy lang, ngayon may apelyido na siya, Empoy Marquez na siya. Kaya nag-iiba na talaga ang mga tao at nahihirapan akong mag-adjust,” she says lightly.
Furthermore, Angelica also hoped she and Empoy will have the chance to work on a project. However, the actress kidded and pointed out that she has one condition: Empoy needs to take a bath regularly.
“Ang tagal na naming magkakilala, parang 2004, 2005 pa kami magkakilala. Maligo muna siya, hindi kasi siya naliligo, honest naman siya doon!”
