Dwarf finds a new home at KDR Music House, opens up about his unique name

Singer-songwriter Dwarf is ready to take the next big step in his music career after officially signing with KDR Music House under the management of Daddy A (Allan Silonga).

Known for his emotionally driven songwriting and distinctive musical style, Dwarf joins the growing roster of artists under the label, bringing with him a sound he describes as “mystical folk pop” — a blend of indie pop ballads, dream pop, and alternative folk that reflects his love for storytelling, nostalgia, and human connection.

During a Zoom conference attended by LionhearTV, Dwarf and Daddy A spoke about the artist’s journey, creative identity, and exciting plans moving forward.

One of the questions that immediately caught attention was the origin of his unusual stage name.

“Napaka-common po kasi ng legal name ko. Vincent kasi ang legal name ko. Parang marami nang gumagamit ng Vincent or Vince,” Dwarf explained.

Looking for a name that would make him stand out, he found inspiration in something deeply personal.

“Tumingin ako sa salamin at napansin kong hindi ako biniyayaan ng height. So sabi ko, ‘What if Dwarf na lang?’ Wala pa naman akong naririnig na Dwarf, and nagustuhan din ni Daddy A,” he shared with a laugh.

Behind the playful name is an artist whose passion for music began at a young age. Dwarf started singing at eight years old, taught himself how to play the guitar at 11, and was already writing original songs by the age of 14.

Unlike many aspiring musicians who begin by performing covers, Dwarf chose to develop his own voice early on through songwriting.

Today, he proudly calls himself a “keeper of memories,” transforming emotions, late-night reflections, and life experiences into songs that resonate deeply with listeners.

His latest single, ‘Junior’s Night,’ captures the innocence and excitement of first love and unforgettable first experiences. According to Dwarf, the song came to life in a burst of inspiration after he revisited nostalgic Facebook memories one early morning.

For the young artist, songwriting is more than simply putting words to music—it is an immersive and vulnerable process.

He likens it to method acting, where he fully immerses himself in the emotions behind every lyric and melody.

That authenticity has become one of the strongest connections between Dwarf and his growing audience.

Recalling one of the most meaningful moments in his career, he shared how a listener once approached him after a performance and revealed that his music helped her through a difficult period in her life.

Apart from his music, Dwarf has also become recognizable for his signature orange sombrero, which has become part of his artistic identity. He revealed plans to further develop his visual aesthetic by incorporating fantasy-inspired elements influenced by characters such as hobbits, complementing his “mystical folk pop” branding.

Now officially part of KDR Music House, Dwarf expressed gratitude for the support and guidance he has found within the label.

For Daddy A and the KDR Music House team, the partnership feels like a natural fit.

While the label provides structure, mentorship, and industry support, they remain committed to preserving Dwarf’s creative freedom and artistic authenticity.

As he embarks on this new chapter, Dwarf looks forward to reaching wider audiences, performing on bigger stages, and continuing to tell stories through music that connects, comforts, and inspires.
