Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez finally speaks up about the embarrassing Miss Universe mix up incident that happened last December 20, 2015 and says that she is humiliated.
During her interview with “Colombia’s W Radio”, Miss Colombia called the incident as a “great injustice”.
“It has been very hard for me, truly, it has been a great shock because it is a dream I fought for. I have always dreamed of this, of being Miss Universe. It was very humiliating for me, but also for the whole country and for all the people not only from Colombia but the other Latinos that were in the auditorium.” Ariadna Gutierrez said
Miss Colombia also said that she thought the mix up was a joke, as she recalls Miss Universe host Steve Harvey often throws joke ” like that” during their rehearsals.
Ariadna Gutierrez believes that Miss Universe organizers and Steve Harvey didn’t do what is right in handling the situation. She believes that they should have saved her from the embarrassing and humiliating experience.
“There are a thousand ways to do things. They could have done it, I don’t know, the next day in a press conference or a press release. They did not do things the right way.” Miss Colombia told Colombia’s W Radio
Ariadna Gutierrez said that what happened last December 20, 2015 in Miss Universe put her in so much grief that she disconnect herself from everyone.
“It’s been an issue that has been following me since I got off the stage. I took advantage of this moment to be with family. I’ve taken time off, and not taken calls from anyone. I had to take time to mourn first,” Miss Colombia added.
When asked what is her reaction about Miss Universe’s former owner Donald Trump’s suggestion that Pia Wurtzbach should share the crown and title with her, “For the first time, I agree with him.”, Ariadna Gutierrez said.
Miss Colombia also thinks that Miss Universe just used her for ratings but she’s trying to be more positive right now.
“If (higher ratings) was the goal, they succeeded. I managed to make history, which I think is more important than winning the Miss Universe title.” Miss Colombia said.
