“Bwakaw”, a drama-comedy about growing old, and everyone’s fear of growing old alone is the Philippines’ entry to the Best Foreign Language Film category for next year’s Oscars awards.
“Bwakaw” is topbilled by the much awarded veteran actor Eddie Garcia, is this year’s entry to the best foreign language film category in the Oscars.
“Bwakaw” stars Eddie Garcia, Armida Siguion-Reyna, Rez Cortez, Gardo Versoza, Bibeth Orteza, Soxie Topacio, Soliman Cruz, Allan Paule, Joey Paras, Beverly Salviejo, Luz Valdez, Jonathan Neri and May-I Fabros had their shining moments in the film. “Bwakaw” is Lana’s tribute to his writing mentor the late Palanca awardee Rene O. Villanueva.

“Bwakaw” was one of six films in the Directors’ Showcase category of the last Cinemalaya Film Festival. It was also invited in several international film festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival and the New York Film Festival.
