Vice Ganda’s ‘Call Me Mother’ ends MMFF 2025 run with ₱392 million worldwide gross

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025 box-office leader ‘Call Me Mother’ has officially closed its festival run with a total worldwide gross of ₱392 million, producers announced on February 5.

The milestone was revealed during a thanksgiving dinner attended by the film’s cast, led by Vice Ganda, and later confirmed by Star Cinema through its official Facebook page.

“THENK YEW SO MUCH, MADLANG PIPOL! Call Me Mother has officially reached ₱392 MILLION in total worldwide gross, and until now parang hindi pa rin kami makapaniwala,” Star Cinema wrote. “From the bottom of our hearts, maraming maraming salamat sa pagmamahal at suporta.”

Starring Vice Ganda alongside Nadine Lustre and child actor Lucas Andalio, ‘Call Me Mother’ dominated the box office from the outset. Industry estimates showed the film emerging as the clear revenue leader on opening day of the Metro Manila Film Festival, buoyed by strong pre-sales and sustained audience turnout throughout the festival period.

The film also made a notable showing at the MMFF Gabi ng Parangal, where it shared the Third Best Picture award with Manila’s Finest. Vice Ganda won Best Actor on his fourth nomination, while director Jun Robles Lana accepted the Gender Sensitivity Award. Lucas Andalio was named Best Child Performer.

Following its successful local run, ‘Call Me Mother’ began its international rollout in January 2026, bringing the film to Filipino audiences overseas. The movie is a co-production of Star Cinema, Viva Films, and IdeaFirst Company.

With its ₱392 million worldwide gross, ‘Call Me Mother’ now stands as the highest-grossing Filipino film of 2025, surpassing Star Cinema releases ‘Meet, Greet & Bye’ (₱260 million) and ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’ (₱173 million), cementing its place as one of the most successful entries in MMFF history.
