Among those in attendance were lead star and co-producer Dingdong Dantes, Lovi Poe, LJ Reyes, producers Dondon Monteverde, Anna Teresa Gozon-Abrogar, Joey Abacan and some members of the entertainment press.
The party, which was held at the GMA Executive Lounge, began with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Erick Santos.
In an interview, Dingdong expressed his elation over the success of his film, which took more than a year to produce and apparently costs P80 million.
“I am happy that [ticket sales] is getting better and better. Lalo pang tumataas [ang revenues] at ‘yun ay isang magandang trend. May mga nagsasabi sa akin na mahaba daw ang pila [sa mga sinehan] kaya nakakataba talaga ng puso. Kaya we’re having this Thanksgiving Mass, kasi inaalay namin itong lahat sa ating Creator. Kung wala Siya, hindi naman natin magagawa ito. We ask Him for strength para sa susunod na endeavor ay, hopefully, makakayanan nating magkaroon pa ng kasunod ang pelikulang ito,” he said.
In anticipation of Halloween, Dingdong and some members of the cast are planning to do a tour of movie theaters showing “Tiktik,” select malls and subdivisions for a “Tiktik: Trick or Treat,” in which the cast will be dressed in their “aswang” costumes.
“Alam namin na karamihan sa mga manonood ng ‘Tiktik’ ay mga bata so iikutin namin yung ilang mga lugar kung saan may trick-or-treat para makita ng mga bata ang iba’t ibang aswang characters sa ‘Tiktik.’
Dingdong’s leading lady in the film, Lovi Poe, came to the Thanksgiving Party sporting a new look and hairdo, which she said was necessary for her role in an upcoming movie. Asked about how she feels about the success of “Tiktik,” she said she is very happy to have been part of the film. “I think everyone who worked hard for the film deserves all this,” she said.
“Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles” is produced by Reality Entertainment, AgostoDos Pictures, Post Manila, Mothership and GMA Films. It is directed by Erik Matti and is rated PG by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). The movie is still showing in theaters nationwide.
