ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs’ special KampanyaSerye documentary “Kamag-anak Inc.” drew varied reactions from netizens, ranging from outrage over the issue to praises for good story-telling that made viewers realize the extent of political dynasties in the country.

#KamagAnakInc became a Twitter trending topic as viewers learned from Jorge Carino’s report on the 178 political dynasties found in different parts of the Philippines that includes familiar clans such as the Villafuertes of Camarines Sur, Ampatuans of Maguindanao, Revillas of Cavite, Estradas of San Juan and Manila, Dutertes of Davao, Marcoses of Ilocos Norte, Cojuangcos and Aquinos of Tarlac,  Macapagals and Arroyos of Pampanga and Iloilo, Osmenas and Garcias of Cebu, Binays of Makati, and Pacquiaos of Saranggani.

Twitter user @ianrodriguez, for example, expressed his dismay over this trend in politics and said “Ang pulitika sa Pilipinas ay para sa lahat hindi para sa isang angkan lang.” @annamat1, on the other hand, compared Philippine politics to a fast food chain, “Ang POLITIKA sa Pilipinas ay parang fast-food. Kanya kanya silang BRANCH.”

The documentary served as an eye-opener for @josephdagdagan and further strengthend his stand as a voter who tweeted “Wala namang Political Dynasty kung hindi tinatangkilik ng tao. @ d end of d day, Kahit ano pang debate yan nasa botante pa rin.”

Netizens also commended “Kamag-Anak Inc” itself and commended Carino for an excellent job in laymanizing the topic on political dynasties.

“The issue on political dynasty is being simplified thru #KamagAnakInc for Filipinos to understand it better. Thanks #kampanyaserye,” said @neglectedjams.“#KamaganakInc must watch! Eye opener ‘to sa mga pilipino! Malaki maitutulong nito sa pagbabago!,” tweeted þ@chiiaaaaa

“Kamag-Anak Inc” is the second KampanyaSerye documentary produced by ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs following “Techie nga ba o Teka Muna?” that talked about the automated elections.

The weekly editions of “KampanyaSerye” continuouslyairs within “TV Patrol.” This week, Jorge Carino started to probe the political landscape in Ilocos and Abra.

“KampanyaSerye,” a teleserye-like documentary that tackles and probes the stories behind campaign promises and rhetorics to bring out the issues that matter to the electorate and show the competencies of aspiring leaders.  It is part of ABS-CBN’s Halalan 2013 coverage that was launched one year before the May national elections and aims to educate voters who are set to elect a new batch of leaders.

Watch “KampanyaSerye” within “TV Patrol” this week with simulcast on DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable ch 26) and DZMM Radyo Patrol 630. Watch it on the various newscasts of ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel (SkyCable ch 27), and the Producer’s Cut version on Saturday, 2:30 PM and Sunday, 11 AM.
