Kim Chiu’s name have been floated as potential perfect fits for Darna’s iconic red costume and deserving trustees for the fictional white stone of power from planet Marte. Kim wore the costume of the No. 1 Pinay Superhero during a production number in “ASAP 18.” She’s also the choice of the netizens based on the poll concluded on almost two months ago with 11,272 out of 26,169 online votes (See: Who’s your choice to be the next Kapamilya Darna?) Right after the announcement of Darna contract signing on ABS-CBN, Kim shared a photo on Instagram of her wearing a bikini to mark her 23rd birthday. These things could be the signs for upcoming project. Just like Jessy Mendiola before she was announced to play the role of Maria Mercedes. Coincidence? We’ll see… The network is still extremely tightlipped about the project.
Since debuting on the big-screen in 1951, “Darna” has been played by over 15 different actresses in TV and film versions of the character’s comicbook outing, with Vilma Santos’ 1970s portrayal considered to be the most iconic take. The last “Darna” portrayal was by Marian Rivera, in GMA Network’s 2009 TV version.

marami pa namang ibang artist on ABS. Give chance to others na pwede din naman sa role as Darna. Anyway, Kim Chiu naman will play as San Chai sa Meteor Garden.
Kim is sexy no doubt about that aside from her beauty & being a very good actress she’s more fit to play the role of Dyesebel – the Mermaid . Not unless she adds MORE POUNDS b/c being DARNA – it’s so strenous/very physical in nature what w/ those fight scenes she has to endure.
Kim Chiu is fitted for any role, but the concern is the risk of the action scenes.
If ever, more precautions have to be in place, to protect Darna.
Some wants Kim as Dyesebel; some wants her to do Meteor Garden. Whatever role she will do next, hope Xian Lim will be her partner; to make up for his bit role in IKA! Thanks!

It’s Still Angel Locsin – NO ONE ELSE BUT SHE – Aside from Vilma Santos – Angel fits “DARNA” -THE BEST AMONG THE RESTS – She’s got everything – body / aura / beauty & best of all – physical tolerance to cope w/ those fight scenes.
