American music artist Erika Jayne is in the Philippines to begin filming segments of two music videos for her new songs titled ‘You Make Me Wanna Dance’ and a ballad song ‘Bringing You Back.’ Both songs are scheduled to be released later this year.
Erika Jayne was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, where she attended North Atlanta High School for the Performing Arts. Based in Los Angeles, Erika Jayne arrived on the club music scene in 2007 with the electro-hued track Rollercoaster, which went to No.1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. In 2008 her follow-up single Stars reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay chart. Both tracks appeared on her debut album Pretty Mess, released in August, 2009. Erika Jayne released her single Party People (Ignite the World) in 2011 and went on to reach No. 1 on the dance/club chart in 2012 becoming her sixth consecutive No. 1 hit. Her latest single Get it Tonight is also the most successful garnering over three million views on YouTube.
Erika, who picked the Philippines for this special music video, has to her credit six No. 1 dance songs on the US Billboard Club/Dance Chart. Erika ranks with the Pussycat Dolls and Rihanna for the most No. 1’s on a debut release. Promotional and performance dates throughout Asia are being scheduled.
Erika entered the club music scene seven years ago with the track ‘Rollercoaster,’ which went to number one of the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. In 2008, her follow up single, ‘Stars,’ reached number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay chart. Both tracks appeared on ‘Pretty Mess,’ her debut album released August 2009. Her single, ‘Party People (Ignite the World),’ released in November 2011, went to number 1 on the dance/club chart in January 2012 becoming her number 6th consecutive number #1 hit. Having landed six number one slots on the Billboard Dance Chart, Erika Jayne ranks with the Pussycat Dolls and Rihanna for the most number ones on a debut release. ‘Get It Tonight,’ her latest single, is also the most successful, garnering over three million views on YouTube before it was removed for content violation.
For these brand-new songs, Erika collaborated with Ross Valory, bassist of the iconic band Journey and internationally-renowned pianist Eric Levy. The highly-anticipated releases were written by the team of Andre Pessis and Eric Martin. Pessis is a multiple award-winning Grammy, Emmy, Golden Globe and ASCAP recipient.
But more than that, Filipinos are proud to say that Erika is also collaborating with Manolet ‘DJ Papi’ Santos and Marvin Querido for the new mix of the songs, creating an interesting modern vibe to You Make Me Wanna Dance. For one of the music videos, Erika enlisted the services of choreographer Georcelle Dapat-Sy and her group G-Force, which joined her in filming scenes in Binondo, Manila and Greenfield Park, Mandaluyong.
Erika also said she’s eager to work with more Pinoys in the future, including Arnel Pineda of Journey. She also wants to come back to the country soon, possibly for a show.
