It was a tie between Kapamilya actors Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz for the best actor award at the 31st Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Awards for Movies held March 8 at Solaire Resort and Casino. Piolo bagged the award for his performance in the romantic movie “Starting Over Again,” while John Lloyd impressed the award-giving body with his performance as a mentally challenged man in “The Trial.”
Superstar Nora Aunor continues to reap best actress awards for her performance in the horror-drama “Dementia.” Sylvia Sanchez and Gretchen Barretto, who both starred in “The Trial,” were tied for the best supporting actress award. Nicco Manalo won the best supporting actor award for his performance in the action movie “The Janitor.”
