Check filters

“Filters are vital in ensuring the seamless flow of air within and outside your unit,” Masinda emphasizes.
Generally, filters are mounted beneath the grill of air conditioners. Masinda advises, “Typically, filters need to be cleaned every month or two—depending on the frequency of usage and the environment of the air conditioner.”
Filters in air conditioners are washable. Simply pull the filter out and rinse it in the sink. Gently scrub it with a soft-bristled brush to remove dirt in hard-to-reach segments. After washing, dry the filter and snap it back to the unit.
Regular maintenance
While owners can handle minor maintenance tasks on their own, more complicated check-ups should be reserved for the experts, notes Masinda.
