Brother International Philippines Corporation (Brother Philippines), a leader in home and business IT peripherals, has recently signed a partnership agreement with Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (Go Negosyo), an organization that brings together all key stakeholders and enablers to generate competitive Filipino entrepreneurs, to enable the company to participate in the latter’s programs geared towards advancing entrepreneurial skills of Filipinos with the bigger goal of empowering the marginalized and eradicating poverty.

Brother and Go Negosyo

Go Negosyo Founder Joey Concepcion said, “We are happy to welcome Brother Philippines as our partner on the very day that marks our tenth year in inspiring and teaching Filipinos entrepreneurship skills. With our programs getting bigger, we definitely need more help from companies who share our vision of creating an entrepreneurial culture for a more progressive nation.”

For his part, Brother Philippines President Glenn Hocson said, “Brother is taking its corporate social responsibility initiatives to the next level with our partnership with Go Negosyo, as it will enable us to help more people improve their lives by equipping them with business skills. It is true to our brand essence of providing products that serve as enablers of business and better lives for Filipinos.”

Brother’s products – from its inkjet to laser multi-function centers (machines that do printing, scanning, copying and faxing) to sewing and embroidery machines and labeling machines – are enablers of profitable businesses. These may be in the lines of fashion, uniform embroidery, printing in internet cafes, labeling products, and copying centers in schools. The company also holds training seminars for its customers as well as select groups to teach them how to maximize the use of their products.

For his part, Go Negosyo Executive Director Ramon Lopez said, “We look forward to doing more with Brother. It is a mutually beneficial partnership where we can help reach out to more entrepreneurs, giving more opportunities for skills development or improving business efficiencies, as well as in introducing technology that can be used in new negosyo (business) models.”

Go Negosyo is the advocacy of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE), a non-stock, non-profit organization that advocates for a change in mindset and attitude, encouraging everyone to take charge and make the most of their resources and abilities by utilizing and transforming these into viable enterprises.
