Which of the four meanings apply when Lovi Poe planted a kiss on the cheek of Marian Rivera at the 15th anniversary party of YES! magazine at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Quezon City? Considering that the two have not been on speaking terms for a while, it’s probably safe to say that your guess is as good as mine!
The magazine’s official Instagram account posted a photo of the two stars the next day with the caption, “At last night’s 15th anniversary of YES! magazine, Lovi Poe together with Rocco Nacino, made the effort to say hello and make ‘beso’ with Marian Rivera-Dantes, who was having dinner with her husband Dingdong. The two beautiful stars, who worked together in a movie, were rumored to have a rift. Could this mean they are OK now?”
The rift reportedly started while they were shooting “Temptation Island.” It was actually between Marian and Heart Evangelista, their co-star. The movie was top billed by the three stars together with Solenn Heussaff and Rufa Mae Quinto.
Marian supposedly approached Heart when she allegedly made jokes about the former’s bad English, Marian’s age, and her sagging skin. Eventually, Heart and Marian made up.
However, Lovi and Marian were surprised when Heart cried for no apparent reason when the two were talking about “fake” people in showbiz.
It looks like Lovi was caught between the fight of her two friends. Later, Lovi and Marian reportedly snubbed each other at various gatherings where they were together.
Last year, Lovi clarified that there was nothing to fix between her and Marian because they are okay. She even worked with Dingdong in the 2012 MMFF entry “Tikitik: The Aswang Chronicles” and the 2014 Kapuso prime time series “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real.”
Let’s hope that when the two exchanged kisses at the YES! party, this issue will be laid to rest. Those kisses could be a good sign that everything is going well between the two actresses. We are keeping our fingers crossed that this will be the start of somethinbg beautiful.
