It has been two months since Maine Mendoza became part of “Eat Bulaga” Family. From Culinary Arts Student to Dubsmash Queen of the Philippines and now Maine plays the witty and lovable Yaya Dub with on-screen love interest Alden Richards; The Ultimate Bae!
According to an article published by GMA News, at first, Maine was hesitant to announce even to her closest friends that she got a proposal from “Eat Bulaga.” She chose to share the good news first to her family simply because, she cannot hold of herself to believe that “Eat Bulaga” has seen her potential. She is also afraid that no one will believe her and instead make fun of her.
Upon receiving the call, Maine doubted herself and she stated with excitement “Maybe they saw a potential in me (through my Dubsmash videos) to be a ‘Dabarkad.’ I don’t know, until now I still cannot believe I am already a part of the EB family. I still even asking myself every now and then, what I have done, why they have chosen me?”
Fortunately, the odds are really in favor of her, she accepted an unexpected phone call from one of the staff of “Eat Bulaga.” In less than a week, a confirmation has arrived at her doorstep that finally she is now part of “Eat Bulaga.”
To be familiar and be knowledgeable on how she can act accordingly, Maine was required to watch “Juan For All, All For Juan” segment starring: Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo and Paolo Ballesteros.
Eventually, Maine was introduce to be part of the first-ever Kalye-serye on TV to continuously give joy, laughter and blessings to everyone.
It was Thursday, the next day she knew her first day on “Juan For All, All For Juan” would be on Saturday.
Playing the role of Yaya Dub, Maine is grateful to have her best shot on TV since she really wanted to be a celebrity and having the chance to be part of Eat Bulaga and a celebrity, Yaya Dub considered it as a “secret dream”.
