Only one name come to our mind when we talk about ‘Bossa Nova’. No one else but Sitti Navarro, the Philippine’s Queen of Bossa Nova. On her 10th year in the music industry, she is releasing her 7th album titled “Singles Bossa Nova Trio.” The album was officially launched last September 17, 2015 (Thursday) at Alab by Chef Tatung Restaurant in Tomas Morato.
During the launch, Sitti talks more about how they made the album and how her current status in life affects her music. According to her, it has more depth, more determined, more meaningful and full of emotions. The songs are very organic. It is not catered to a specific mark, but she strongly believes that everybody can easily relate to it.
Her happiness as a married woman reflects on the songs on the album. She even shared how magical it is to record the whole album in a house in Rizal one ordinary day. Sitti, together with the guitarist Erskine Basilio and percussionist Diego Martinez, was just jamming around and the birds started to sing with her. All were caught on the live recording.
The Philippine’s Queen of Bosa Nova is not certain about until when is she going to sing. ” Hindi ko alam if may expiration. As long as may nakikinig, at nakakasulat ako ng kanta, go lang. Masaya naman kami,” Sitti said. (Translation: I don’t know if there is an expiration. As long as there are listeners (of her music), and she still able to write a song, just go on.)
