AlDub’s success continues to make Eat Bulaga and GMA network lead in television ratings in key areas of Urban Luzon and Mega Manila. And because of their overwhelming popularity, people are now waiting for the Phenomenal Loveteam’s movie projects.
The question is, will AlDub’s popularity put an end to the movie flop history for GMA Films?
We can recall that in 2012, GMA Network CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon announced their goal to produce atleast one film per month for GMA films, which failed to happen. During that year, They only produced total of 9 movies and 6 out of 9 movies are all flopped.
In 2013, only two (2) movies are produced and both flopped. Last Year, 2014, GMA Films produced three (3) movies, and two (2) out of this three movies once again flopped, (Only one movie made it to success which is, (“Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2″ )
This year 2015, GMA Films is set to release only one Movie which is “My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More!” starring Ai-Ai de las Alas and Vic Sotto with the popular hit love team AlDub (Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza). This is the first movie of the phenomenal love team.
We remember that on recent Twitter post, Eat Bulaga host Joey de Leon joked that Heneral Luna could have appealed immediately to viewers if Alden played the role of Jose Rizal, and Maine Mendoza as Sisa.
“’Yung Heneral Luna siguradong box office hit agad kung binigyan ng cameo role si Alden as Rizal and Maine as… SISA!” Joey De Leon tweeted on Last September 28.

Last week, the tickets for AlDub’s “Tamang Panahon” show is sold out in less than 24 hours. And last Saturday, another history in the Philippine Entertainment is made after 55,000 people packed the “Philippine Arena” (the biggest indoor arena in the world) just to meet Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza (Yaya Dub).
The love team also set another world record of over 39.5 million tweets on Twitter within 24 hours breaking the 35.6 million tweets of 2014 Fifa World Cup semi-final match between Germany and Brazil.
Following this success, the first trailer of the love team’s upcoming romantic comedy movie ‘My Bebe Love’ is also released and first seen last Saturday.
‘My Bebe Love’ is an official entry to the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival and will be shown on December 25, 2015.
