VJT, the trio of Vice Ganda, Jugs, and Teddy, wowed the audience today with their production number entitled “Optical Illusion” on “It’s Showtime” Magpasikat segment.
The performance began with Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz finding a magical paper which serves as a portal through solid objects. By inserting one’s hand thru the black circle on the paper, one can reach for objects beyond any solid barrier. Jugs and Teddy used the magical paper to grab some food inside a vendo machine.
Vice Ganda used it to unlock a door where James Reid is sleeping on a folding bed. Vice Ganda hugged James, who in his sleepy mode, hugged back Vice Ganda. Nadine Lustre comes in to separate the two but she cannot do it. She had to ask the help of no less than Ang Probinsyano himself, Coco Martin.
Vice is then ushered out of the room. He proceeds to sing while surrounded by candles on the floor. The candles form some sort of a box when the camera zooms out, one of the many optical illusions in their Magpasikat performance. A series of optical illusions were shown to the audience, leading up to the climax wherein the VJT are shown walking, crawling, and dancing on the ceilings and walls of a small room.
The performance of VJT became a top trending topic on Twitter with the hashtag #MagpasikatViceJugsTeddy getting more than 600000 tweets.
“Magpasikat” has been a traditional part of It’s Showtime wherein the hosts of the noontime show can express their creativity. The cash prizes go to the chosen charity of the winners.
The week-long Magpasikat segment was brought back to It’s Showtime for its 6th Anniversary Celebration.
Performances to watch out for are those of Team Anne Curtis, Kuya Kim, and the Eruption tomorrow and on Friday, with the true-to-life love team of Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia.
On Saturday, the winners for this year’s It’s Showtime Magpasikat will be announced. Don’t fail to watch it!
