GMA Network has zoomed to the top of the AGB National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) ratings since September this year, according to its President and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon.

GMA CEO Felipe Gozon

GMA Network grabbed the lead in September, registering 2.5 points more than its rival ABS-CBN. It widened the lead in October when GMA Network got a 39 percent rating compared to 33.7 percent of ABS-CBN.

agbnutamWith the advent of the phenomenal AlDub love team, GMA Network ratings has experienced renewed vigor in its daytime ratings, with “Eat Bulaga” leading the way. “Eat Bulaga” registered a whopping 42.9 per cent NUTAM rating on October 24, when “Sa Tamang Panahon” aired from the Philippine Arena. GMA has latched onto the popularity of the AlDub love team by featuring them in other programs of the network via guestings and news clips.

Aside from AlDub, GMA’s new program offerings have also attracted viewers back to the network.

To celebrate the resurgence in the ratings of the network, they gave the entertainment press a Christmas party last December 9.

GMA Network’s Christmas Party for the Press was hosted by Luane Dy, Betong Sumaya and Nar Cabico. Aside from raffle prizes, the invited press members were treated to performances from GMA talents. Glaiza de Castro sang “Till It’s Time” and boy band TOP also showed their winning form.

PEP reported that GMA Network is very grateful with the blessings that the Network received for 2015. Gozon said that his New Year’s wish is for the network to have an even better year this coming 2016.

With the continued popularity of ‘KalyeSerye’ and new tv series set for launching next year, Gozon’s wish just might be granted.
