Just a few days ago, the Pambansang Bae Alden Richards gave joy to the Loyzaga family in their time of grief. Alden visited the Loyzaga clan during the wake for legendary basketball player Carlos “Caloy” Loyzaga, who died of cardiac arrest last January 27, 2016.
Caloy was the father of actresses Bing and Teresa Loyzaga and former PBA players Chito and Joey Loyzaga.
Alden went to the wake not only to pay his last respects to a basketball great but also because he learned that Caloy’s widow, Vicky was his number 1 fan. According to Bing’s husband, Janno Gibbs, the ‘Pambansang Bae” decided to surprise his mother-in-law because of this.
Despite his very busy schedule, Alden went to the wake, and the Loyzagas appreciated his very unselfish move.
Bing expressed her gratitude to Alden in a photo she posted on Instagram, which showed her mom and Alden both smiling at the camera. Her caption for the photo was simple yet meaningful, “Thank you @aldenrichards02 for putting a big smile on my Mom’s face, during this time of grief. You are truly deserving of all your blessings!”

Alden also had a photo taken with Janno’s daughter, Alyssa and Gabs, who did their best versions of Pabebe wave with Alden. Janno posted the photo on Instagram and jokingly captioned it ” “ALGAB- Alyssa and Gabs.” He made a pun out of “Anselmo”, Alden’s latest role in ‘Kalyeserye’, as Nidora’s ex-lover. Janno said, “Anselmo ka tlga! An Selfless Mo” (You’re really Anselmo. You’re so selfless).
