We are sure that KathNiel fans are still trying to fill the void left in their nightly schedules since “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” had its finale last February 12.
But here’s some good news for KathNiel fans – the new movie of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla is now in the works!
In a tweet by MJ Felipe, he revealed that KathNiel will start shooting for their new movie project this coming April.
ABS-CBN confirmed that Kathryn and Daniel are indeed starting their meetings with people involved in the new KathNiel film. On Friday, March 4, Kathryn and Daniel reportedly met with Star Cinema executives about the film.
The still untitled film will be directed by no less than blockbuster director Cathy Garcia-Molina. Direk Cathy also helmed another KathNiel movie titled “She’s Dating The Gangster”, which was both a critical and commercial success. The said film earned an estimated 307 million during its run in 2014.
The new KathNiel project will be the fifth film topbilled by Kathryn and Daniel. Their most successful film to date is “Crazy Beautiful You” which was released February 2015 and earned an estimated 322 million at the box office.
Both Kathryn and Daniel are very excited about their new film and are very thankful that Star Cinema has given them another project.
ABS-CBN’s website quoted Daniel in an interview last February as saying,
“Katatapos lang ng pitch sa amin. Direk Cathy na. Let’s go. Let’s start.”

Other details about the film are still under wraps, but trust Direk Cathy to give KathNiel a movie they can be proud of. As for KathNiel fans, get ready with your wallets ‘coz you have a new KathNiel movie to watch out for.
