“Actually, relax lang kami, parang di namin ganung pinag-uusapan ang ratings,” that’s Vice Ganda’s reaction when asked about the reception of the viewers on “It’s Showtime.” Since January, ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime” is back in leading battle of noontime shows versus “Eat Bulaga.”
There’s no pressure from the management. “Pag kinakausap kami ng management, di masyadong binabanggit. O sinasabi sa amin… kailangang gawin ito, walang ganun. Nire-remind lang kami sa mga obligations namin as mga hosts.”
RATINGS BOARD: “It’s Showtime” is consistently winning against “Eat Bulaga”
Aside from pre-programming “Be My Lady,” the segment ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ is giving its rival show “Eat Bulaga” a big headache and even tried to produce similar singing contests – short-lived segments like ‘Grabe S’ya’ (talent search – singing, dancing, etc.) and ‘Just Duets’ and the latest: ‘Lola’s Playlist.‘ These ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ alike segments of the rival shows suffered miserably as it failed to give the original singing search a tough challenge.
