After her win in the New York Asian Film Festival earlier this year, Cinema One Originals actress and the star of award-winning indie film “Hamog” has once again brought pride to the country in the international scene after being the first Filipino to bag the coveted Best Actress award at the Moscow International Film Festival in Russia.

Malvar won the St. George Prize for Best Actress for starring as the main character in the Cinema One Originals film titled “Hamog” (Haze), directed by Ralston Jover which also recently won the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Golden Goblet award at the 2016 Shanghai International Film Festival. It was also the festival’s centerpiece presentation.

At 15 years old, Malvar is the youngest Filipino actress to win a Best Actress Award in an A-list film festival.

It can be remembered that Malvar made waves in 2013 when she beat Superstar Nora Aunor in the Best Actress category during the 2013 Cine Filipino Film Festival. Three years later, the young actress has already collected three Best Actress awards for her excellent and notable performances in her films.

Malvar also won Best Actress in the 2015 Cinema One Originals awards night. Director Ralston Jover’s “Hamog,” a story on the lives of four street children who suddenly get caught in a web of consecutive and unforeseen tragedies, reaped four recognition including Best Editing, Best Supporting Actor, Best Actress, and the coveted Jury Award.

Teri Malvar is recognized for her performances in “daring roles that have expanded the range of contemporary Philippine cinema.” She is best known for playing promising roles in Sigrid Andrea Bernardo’s “Ang Huling Cha-Cha Ni Anita,” Ralston Jover’s “Hamog,” and Ice Idanan’s “Sakaling Di Makarating.”

“Hamog,” the award-winning film of Cinema One Originals, will have a special screening on July 13 Wednesday at 7PM at the Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN Main Building.
