Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado just released her 7th album (including 1 compilation album) titled ‘Ultimate,’ this time with her new recording studio, Ivory Music Philippines. The 7-track album is headlined with the carrier single “Hagdan”. The album also includes collaborations with Christian Bautista for a remake of “Suddenly” and “Bulalakaw” featuring Silent Sanctuary. “Nakaw-tingin”, “Huling Paalam”, “Lampara”, and “Magkaibang Mundo” are the other tracks in the album.
During the media launch at Packo’s restaurant near ABS-CBN, Jennylyn admitted, “Ayoko naman ng danceable, kasi di naman talaga ako sumasayaw, di sumusunod yung katawan ko sa sayaw. Hindi ko kayang kumanta habang sumasayaw. Kaya ko lang tumayo. Pero gusto ko ng may (stronger) beat.”
In terms of song choices, Jennylyn is very much hands on. She said, “Importante sa kin yung, pag pinakinggan ko, first few notes pa lang nakukuha ko na yung melody, yung catchy ang music. Importante yung pag naririnig mo yung melody, ‘Uy! Interesting.’ Tas to follow yung lyrics, sunod na lang yung feeling, parang ganun. (Actually) dun mo mafi-feel sa first few notes kung maganda ba siya.”
“Ultimate, Jennylyn Mercado” is now available in all digital formats and record stores nationwide. It is also now available for download in iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, Spinnr and Amazon.
Jennylyn will be performing on September 23, 6 p.m. at Trinoma Activity Center with special guests, Sarkie Sarangay of Silent Sanctuary and Zack & Fritz.
