Actress Janine Gutierrez is now officially part of Star Magic, the talent management arm of ABS-CBN.
The announcement was made on Monday, April 13, through Star Magic’s social media platforms, welcoming the Kapamilya actress as its newest artist.
“Just Got…a new artist onboard! Welcome to the family, Janine Gutierrez!” the agency said.
Gutierrez expressed her excitement about this new chapter in her career, citing growth and new opportunities as her main reasons for signing with the agency.
“Alam ko kung gaano sila [Star Magic] ka-tight at kung gaano sila kagaling and I’m excited na mapabilang sa kanila, sa Star Magic family,” she said.
“I want to continue to keep on growing, to learn more, and to get more opportunities na alam ko talagang ‘yon ‘yung forte ng Star Magic through years of experience,” she added.
She also shared that the move comes at the right time following her new network contract.
“At saka with this new network contract, I think perfect time and perfect opportunity na sumali na rin sa Star Magic family para talagang ma-guide ako sa next steps sa aking career and sa mga upcoming projects,” she explained.
Gutierrez revealed that she sought advice from her brother, Diego Gutierrez, who has long been a Star Magic artist.
“Actually, siya nga ‘yung hiningan ko ng advice kasi matagal na siyang Star Magic [artist]. Sabi ko, ‘Kuya, kamusta? Kamusta kayo ni Direk Lauren?’ ganyan… ‘Anong experience [mo] with all those mga Christmas Ball?’” she shared.
She added that her brother even teased her about following in his footsteps.
Co-managing Gutierrez under Star Magic is Pinky Angodung, who also handles the career of actor Jericho Rosales, Gutierrez’s boyfriend.
Before joining Star Magic, Gutierrez was managed by LVD Artist Management and previously spent several years under GMA Artist Center.
